Buy and trade policy

We buy, sell and trade books, VHS tapes, DVDs, sheet music and some types of ephemera, like postcards and bookmarks. At PT Campbell BookDealer we deal in every kind of book and do our best to offer a fair price to our customers. We are choosy, however, and we do not take everything we are offered. Books must be in good condition and their content something of interest for our customers. We turn down books with loose pages, water stains, mold, torn or missing covers and pages, broken spines, ink stains or crayon scribbles. We never take magazines, news papers, comic books, recorded music, Readers Digest Condensed books, Harlequin Romances which are more than five years old or encyclopedias which are less than one hundred years old. Ex-library books are welcome, the stickers and stamps can be left on, books with names and addresses of former owners are welcome too, please leave them if they are in ink, blacking them out will reduce the value of the book as it ages. Cutting them out will mean we won't take them.

If you wish to sell your books we ask that you please call before you come into the store to ensure our buyer will be available. Only the buyer pays cash and if he is not in the staff will not be able to help you. We do not make appointments, or do drop offs.
